Mixed-Media Face Challenge

Cloth, Paper, Scissors magazine has issued a “Faces of Mixed Media” challenge in their Sept./Oct. issue.

This challenge is perfect for trying something new!  I’ve given it a shot, purposefully aiming for a different look than all my usual stuff.  The rules?  Only pens, pencils, or markers can be used and the paper must measure 4″ x 4″ .

I confess I’m into purple hair right now.  I couldn’t resist coloring the hair 2 shades of purple.

By the way, I’ve had fun playing around with this hair shadow from Sephora.

It’s easy to use: blow dry, apply powder, hair spray, heat set, spray again.  It stays put until you shampoo it out.

I’ll be donning these colored locks for the Amy and Friends Cockayne Syndrome Family Retreat this weekend.  Knox and I fly out tomorrow morning to spend some much needed time of encouragement and support with our CS family in England again.  Over 70 families from dozens of countries will be there! I’m so excited to see all of the families and children we met last year, and meet new families as well.  Plus, I’m going to get to meet 2 of my blogging friends, as well.  Lisette from MrsBeez, and Hilary from Positive Letters, see you soon! xox

Have a wonderful week and I’ll see you back here in October! I’ll be working on my Candy Corn Queen 2013!

Thanks for stopping by!

    • Hi Connie, I know it is really different. I’ve got a personal goal to get published in CPS since I’ve only ever gotten my work in Somerset mags. Trying to branch out and try new things! I appreciate you stopping by and taking a look! I’ll hop over and see what you’re up to ASAP. 🙂

  3. Thanks for the heads up on the challenge, I love what you are entering. Great face and lovely colors. I think the hair colors are fab, too. Why not have purple hair? Enjoy your weekend away, I hope it leaves you feeling uplifted. Have a safe trip!

  5. Hi Scarlett .. it was such a pleasure to meet up with you and the family and I would have loved to have stayed and listened to the Conference ..

The CS family is a great band of people .. so supportive of each other – and it was a privilege to meet up with you all … I’m sure you’ve had an enlightening time and gleaned some extra knowledge …

Enjoy these next few days in and around the Wirral Peninsula … and I hope to get to meet up with you again at some stage … This mixed media challenge is certainly interesting, it’s good to ‘meet’ your son – as he stayed behind keeping your hubby company!

I’d love to have sufficient hair to colour it up! Yours looked fun .. and as you’ve now told us .. ‘ so easy’ …

with hugs and thoughts to you and your daughters -Hilary
