Published in Somerset Life, Autumn 2012

So grateful and thrilled to see my holiday clothespins featured in the brand new issue of Somerset Life.

A great big THANK YOU to the wonderful editors and staff of this gorgeous publication. I’m truly thankful and honored to be included.

Be sure and check it out at your local bookstore or from their web site.  Each and every page is full of beauty and ideas for artistic living.

I actually made several more of these clothespins using sequins on the ends but I didn’t send them all in.  I should have! Maybe next time I’ll be more confident.

I’m just back from our trip to England and still tired. We had a great time and I can’t wait to share some photos with you.

And as for my ‘adventure hair’, the pretty pink extensions came out much too soon! (I pulled on them too much)

I posted this photo on my FB page when they were just put in.  If you haven’t gone over  and ‘liked’ my page yet, please do!  I’ll be posting photos, drawings, and other works in progress photos that don’t make it onto the blog.

Have a great weekend!

  10. Hello Scarlett,
found you in the magazine, and I had to come here and tell you how much I LOVE your clothespins. I plan on making mine for Christmas…
    My best,

  11. Hi Scarlett,
I had a couple of hours free tonight as my mum had my kids. I decided to browse through the magazines at Barnes N Noble and came across your clothespins (or pegs as well call them in Britain!). I LOVE them! I think they’re gorgeous and I plan on making them for my Christmas presents.

I read that you set yours outside for a few months to get the weathered look. Seeing as though I’m making them for the holidays, I won’t be able to leave them out for that length of time. Do you have any other thoughts on how to get the weathered look?

I think you do a wonderful job and have enjoyed looking at your blog tonight. Thanks for your help! I hope you had a wonderful time on your trip to England…..I’m very jealous of your recent trip 🙂

    Warm regards,
    Joanne

    • @Joanne –Hi, thanks for stopping by, I’m glad you liked this project. I think you might be able to get a weathered look by rubbing some Distress Ink on them…I would try ‘Tea Dye’ or “Walnut Ink’. If you don’t have any of that stuff you might just try some furniture polish like Old English and see what happens. Let me know how they turn out and thanks again for coming by!

  12. oh huge congrats on this publication!
