Regionals 2009

Regionals 1

As soon as I walked into the enormous Fielder Road Baptist Church, I saw Jesus.

I was immediately intrigued when I discovered they had an art exhibit going on! I love art! They had stunning reproductions of works famous and not so famous, old and new, up and down the main halls.  The children’s ministry also had a large exhibit of all the children’s artwork and some of them were quite remarkable.

Looking at the artwork made the first day very pleasant. The next two days were a bit…long.  I think if my two year old son could talk he would have said something like,”Mom, if you knew I couldn’t run in here, why did you bring me?” Poor little guy.

And M. had a lot of time on her hands, too.  She only qualified to compete in one event so she spent most of the day…waiting.

Regionals 4

We did have the chance to watch several semi-final rounds and I got to watch duo finals! Incredible! I have so many new ideas.  Some of the teams were so creative in the way they used sound effects.  I’m excited about next year’s possibilities!  As it turned out, all the waiting was worth it as she broke first to semis, then finals, and then placed 5th overall, qualifying for the National Championship next month! Pretty cool.

Yes, I know I’m not supposed to put family stuff up here anymore.  It’s an art blog.  Just my art stuff, nothing else.  I’ll try harder, really I will.

  1. Oh I like the family stuff too! We were super excited when we found out M made it to Nationals! Tell her I said “Congratulations!”
