In my last post I showed some creative ways to use a “non-Valentine” stamp for Valentine’s cards. Here’s another example.
As you can see, this cupcake stamp from Stampin’ Up! was intended as an easy, fill-in-the-blank card stamp for young children.
My favorite thing to do with this stamp is to use the image as a template for decorative papers, inking the top and bottom separately. For these cards I simply inked the top and bottom of the stamp separately (omitting the words altogether) and stamped them on decorative papers and cut them out.
I love the silly-sweet sayings on children’s Valentine’s…
I used red glitter glue for sprinkles, and fan-folded the gingham paper to look like a cupcake liner.
This one was fun, too. The red paper had a swirly print on it that I drew over with a silver gel pen.
And now that I’ve almost finished this post I see that I forgot to color the dot over the “i” . I always notice these little details when I see the photos on the screen!
For the bottom of this one I scored lines with a stylus and a ruler and drew over the lines with the silver gel pen again.
Valentine’s Day is only two weeks away!
