I saw some great wreaths made out of book pages by Connie Govea Stuart in Somerset Life a few months ago.
I wanted to make a wreath from one of my old Bibles that was falling apart. I decided to make a wreath using the pages from the book of Exodus.
I used a verse from Exodus as the main accent for the tag and then used the entire book of Exodus to fill the wreath.
I used a wooden embroidery hoop for the frame and wrapped it in ribbon. Next I rolled each page on a pencil and then flattened it with my hand. I hot glued the pages around the hoop and used a pretty silk ribbon for a hanger. I then added the tag and some ephemera for interest and some buttons.
I used 4 pages and folded them into fans, and then folded those fans in half. By gluing the sides together I had a perfect, full rosette to add in the center of the wreath. I adhered this last, followed by a dried flower. Lastly, I sponged some distressing ink around the circumference of the wreath to darken the edges.
