This small black 4″x 4″canvas is one of my many “tried to do something on here but it didn’t work'” canvases that I have lying around. Today it got a make-over. First, I covered it with a thin layer of fiber paste.
Taking this pretty silk butterfly, I gently removed the wings.
I brushed fiber paste on the backs of the wings and adhered them to the wet canvas and let it dry.
Meanwhile, I found the perfect word.
Then some Titan Buff acrylic was lightly brushed all over the canvas.
Then some Burnt Sienna and Raw Umber was brushed around the edges.
Then I left it alone! I tend to overdo things like this so I just took some pictures and walked away.
Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend. Thank you for coming by to see my art!

My thyroid(the butterfly gland) is too fast right now.
Freedom for me would be sleep, lots of art and
the freshness of outdoors~

So simply beautiful, just like nature. I like the music too! I hope this finds you and your family well. Hugs.
At MY age, just learning, slowly, to appreciate the beauty of mixed media. This is a big stop forward. You know the addiction is taking hold when you can actually imagine yourself doing something like this. Bravo, Scarlett
This is gorgeous Scarlett! I am so loving altered/mixed media art right now, your canvas just rocks!
