This posting is quite indicative of your true calling…..assemblages. You have a way of arranging all types of treasures into a cohesive whole. I look forward to you exhibiting with us again!
I love all your attention to details both in the sketching and the additions – they make all the difference. A fairly muted bust comes alive with the addition of the jewels and gold. Looks awesome.
You’ve managed to create something that’s elegant, charming, sophisticated–without it being pretentious. Rare trick, that.
I’m curious, how did this piece come to you: sketch, then accessories, then words? Or did you see it whole, and then have to find the pieces to create what you saw?
Ditto Ellen’s Jane Austen comment. I had the same thought. I think it was the title+face+books in the final frame. But I’m not certain.
This piece was thrown together out of frustration, actually. I had drawn something else with the quote in mind for the “A to Z:” challnege and just couldn’t get it to look right. I gave up on it and then rememebered this drawing in my sketchbook and decided she would fit the part. And she did! No artistic method, just chaotic creation-lol. Thanks so much!
Oh, and yep, I’m a huge Jane Austen fan.
