This was a piece of scratch paper that had been used to test paint colors. It didn’t look very interesting, but I gave my young artist a challenge for our Super Art Friday project.
I handed her the paper and a black pen and said, “Use your imagination. What could this be?”
She looked at it for a few seconds, turned it upside down, and started to draw.
“It’s a big ship and strong winds blew it off course and it wrecked on an island where some natives lived.”
“They were nice natives, though, and they lived in little huts with sea-shells on their doors.”
“The sailors need to save the wheat they had stored on their ship, so they put the bags of grain on a smaller boat and took it to the island where it would stay fresh.”
And who are those two on the boat that look like they are in love?
“Umm…I’m not sure…I don’t really know why I drew that part.”
Didn’t it turn out great? She’s so creative!
Your budding little artist did a great job! You never know what erratic blobs of paint on a scrap piece of paper can do, but it looks like those blobs created the dynamic energy for your artist to build upon. Good job!!
I love how vibrant and imaginative her art work is~ I wonder where she gets it from ;-D (MOM)! Fun idea~ She did a wonderful job~ You should send some art in for the new Stampington magazine(Create with Me)!
If you have time I would love you to read my other poem(I did two submissions to the prompt “Untitled” this week) I think you will like it better than my 2nd attempt(Dr’s visit…blech) 1st attempt much more interesting:
