Look at this sweet face! This antique baby portrait was in such good condition. And I have a friend expecting a baby girl this month so… I brought her home with me. The Antique Mall is becoming one of my favorite places these days. I layered the portrait with some pink stained cheese-cloth, decorative […]

Antique Baby Portrait Card
When I go to antique stores I look for old photos. I love to find baby portraits in good condition. I love the old-fashioned dresses they wore (the girls and the boys!) and their sweet expressions. I always wonder how something that was so precious to someone at one time wound up for sale in an antique […]
“Victorian House 101” Mixed-Media Piece for Somerset Studio

“Autumn Dreams” ATCs

ATCs from the “Narwhal Love” Swap
The Narwhal cards came! They’re awesome! I confess I’m completely addicted to these ATC swaps. So much so, that I signed up for TWO more: *Autumn Dreams* and *Decorated Elephants* What was I thinking? Haha! Have a great weekend!
Candy Corn Queen 2010
My daughter was eating some candy corn and remarked how fun it would be to make candy corn jewelry. Then I remarked how fun it would be to try to draw a lovely Candy Queen completely covered in candy corn accessories. And now, for the rest of the story… I drew […]
Altered Rubix Cube
I peeled off the colored square stickers, removed any left-over adhesive, and glued on squares cut from decorative/book papers. To finish I gave each square a coat of Diamond Glaze to make them shiny.
