Visual Contrast Book for Baby

I recycled this old photo album into a visual contrast book for Knox.

We’re not sure how much he can see, but we know he sees something!

And he seems to enjoy looking at high contrast images.  The Baby Symbolizer app. keeps him entertained for a while, but real books still do the best job of providing visual and tactile stimulation for him.

I didn’t spend a dime on this one!  The whole thing was made with scraps I’ve saved.  I’m not the only one that saves all paper scraps 1′ square or larger, right?

He loves his new book and the size is perfect for his little hands to turn the pages.

Making a personalized contrast book would be a great baby gift for a new baby, or for a young child with visual impairment.

Thanks for visiting and happy Friday!

  2. Genius! I love that last photo. You can see Knox loves his big sis. BTW, I had the girls make your bunnies and I’ve posted pics on my blog if you want to see what they did. They really enjoyed the project. Thanks.

  3. What a great ideal! The grandchildren and I may try and make these during spring break. Thanks for shairing love these ideals. Love ya

  4. These types of books would also be great for someone in a nursing home. The colors and contrasts and the ease of the book would be very entertaining for someone with memory loss but who can still hold a small book and turn pages.

    • @Nola –Thank you so much for your comment, you know..I never would’ve thought of that, what a great suggestion. Thanks for sharing that and for taking the time to stop by!

  5. I love it, how magical! YOUR music also captures the wonder and magic of art! I bet he loves it! You are a great Mom~ I use to hang baby faces(magazine covers) near my son’s crib. People told me I was weird. My son would talk to them and he talked really early. Listen to your heart always, it won’t steer you wrong~
