Isn’t this a cute truck?  My 2 year old son would absolutely love this in his bedroom!

Alas, it was intended for a loftier location.  My father-in-law is a State Farm agent in Austin, TX and is in the process of updating his office decor. 

Here he is with his wonderful and very friendly office staff.  I thought those of you that know my husband might get a kick out of seeing the resemblance.

He saw this metal sculpture and thought it would look great on an office wall.  Furthermore, he thought the State Farm logo would fit right inside the black oval on the truck’s door.  That’s where I come in.  I like to paint stuff.

I painted the oval white, and then printed out a copy of the logo from the internet and decided to give it a try free-hand.  Pretty brave, huh?

Actually, I thought the imperfect, free-hand look would fit with the old truck better anyway.

Using a red paint marker and a white gel pen, I copied the logo on the oval.

It turned out pretty good! Can’t wait to see it in the office!  And of course I have to end this post by saying that my father-in-law is the best State Farm agent in the state of Texas.  “If you want quality customer service and an agent you can depend on, call Dick and his staff today…”  🙂
