A Dress for Little Miss Fairfax, Part 2

Last week I told you about a birthday surprise  I am planning for my daughter.   Guess what?

The dress is already finished!   Here are the  photos that the seamstress sent for my approval:

All I can say is, “wow”.  The color and styling are exactly what I’d hoped for! I don’t think I could’ve imagined a more perfect dress for my little Miss Fairfax. I love the layered skirt, and wasn’t it a great idea to sew the ribbon belt into place around the front?  My daughter is going to LOVE this dress!

Now, I’m on the hunt for a locket.  I think a pretty little silver locket would look just right with this dress, don’t you?  I can already imagine the pictures I’d like to take of her wearing it: by soft window light reading a favorite book, at her grandmother’s baby grand piano playing a tune, sitting on a hierloom quilt embroidering a cushion…(sigh)

This dress makes me happy.

Thanks, Jessie! She is going to be really surprised! Yes, we love that movie-definitely one of our favorite Jane Austen remakes ever! The light in every scene is so beautiful!
