Butterfly Carousel

Sometimes IĀ  like to get my scissors and some pretty papers and start cutting.

I don’t have any pattern or picture to look at, just an image in my mind that I want to create.

This is one I’ve been wanting to try for while: a carousel with butterflies.

I started by free-hand cutting the main parts of the picture in my head.

Then I added some pieces of black and white twine to enhance the poles.

I wanted the butterflies to have more detail so I used rubber stamps, stamped on coordinating papers.

I cut them out and layered them, one on top of the other, sometimes three or four at a time.

I attached them with double stick foam to the ‘poles’.

I added some blue bling and a little bow at the top.

I matted this piece with another piece of coordinating paper and put it in a 16″ x 20″ white frame.

I think this would be so cute in a little girl’s room or a play room. It’s listed in my Etsy shop for CS research.

Please pass the link along if you know anyone who might be interested in this piece.

Thanks for visiting today!

I wish all of you a blessed Easter weekend!
