“Fingerprint Drawing” by Ed Emberly

This book is so much fun!

The Fingerprint Drawing Book by Ed Emberly is one of those books you’ll go back to again and again when you need a fun, indoor activity.  You may think it’s a stretch calling this “art”, but you should see some of the designs my kids have come up with after being inspired by this book.

Using the basic ideas in the book, they’ve taken the designs further and created some amazing pictures.

Each page is full of fun designs shown in step by step progression.  You can make all sorts of pictures using only your fingertips, ink pads, and a  pen.

Your pointer finger-tip makes perfect flower centers, and your thumb, perfect bumble-bee bodies.

Stamping only half of your fingerprint gives you a perfect watermelon shape…just add seeds!

It’s amazing how versatile your different  fingertips can be when used as stamps!

Hope you’re having a creative summer!
