Handmade Necklaces for Two

It’s summer here in Texas and boy is it HOT ! It’s so hot I’m driving my car with two fingers!

Every summer it’s a challenge to keep small people occupied inside during these scorching summer months.

Having visited a dermatologist regularly for so many years when I was younger, I’m more sun-shy than most.  I received more lectures about sun damage and saw more posters illustrating the harmful and ugly effects of continual sun exposure than I can count. In other words, I don’t like to be out in the sun a lot. Everybody’s got their little quirks.

Last week I pulled out this plain old box I had almost forgotten about…

It doesn’t look like much on the outside, but it’s actually full of…

Beads!!!

My MIL’s neighbor gave my daughter this fun collection of pretty plastic beads that her own girls had outgrown.

Definitely enough in here to keep little hands busy on a 100 degree afternoon…

After much sorting, which winds up being pretty fun all by itself, my daughter decided to make matching necklaces for herself and her best doll,  Zoe.  Since they have the same favorite color ( 🙂 ) it was easy to decide on the color scheme. She also found two heart jewels in one of the bags, one large and one small-perfect!

Pretty cute!

Hope you’re staying cool this weekend!
