Painting With “ArtRage”

This is my first try at painting on an iPad.

It’s my daughter’s iPad, actually, but she lets me play with it sometimes.  🙂

I downloaded the Art Rage app and Oh My Goodness.

All of the options are amazing! It really feels like you’re painting…the paint smears and blends and ….wow.

I’m hooked.

I added some layers and the first line of a song to this painting…

Thank you to everyone who left caring words for me on the last post, or sent me a personal message of encouragement.  Things are better this week.  I bought Knox a Christmas present that I think he’ll like and I’m fixing to start on his stocking.  Last year he was having operations on his eyes in December and I never had the chance to make him one.  Oh, and his grandmother bought him some red and green striped pajamas so I want to take some cute pictures of him in his Christmas jammies.

The first miniature hot-air balloon ornament is up next!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. OH WOW! how very cool!!!

Isn’t technology amazing! Love it Scarlett! xoxo

  2. Scarlett, I meant to comment last entry but was sidetracked. My heart goes out to you and I really have no words other than my prayers are with you all and other families dealing with this disease. I can’t even imagine what it must be like to deal with so many unknowns.

On a lighter note, I love your creation on this post! Wow. Amazing technology and not like paints that dry out. I hate to ask ‘what next’!

    • @Connie –Thanks so much, Connie, I appreciate your thoughts very much, it’s a tough road. Sometimes I just have to get it off my chest and art is a helpful outlet. And thank you about the artrage painting, it’s wild to paint with my finger on a screen! BTW, still not able to comment on your blog, I don’t know what to try anymore, the comment box still just won’t pop up…love your BOHO bag, it’s gorgeous and that little tiny bicycle charm is so darling, you are so talented with fabrics and trim!! Have a wonderful week!
      ~Scarlett

  3. oooh, I want that app, how cool is that! Stunning, I’m amazed at the hair!

I love Christmas jammies; stockings are so fun~

I can’t imagine the emotional swing you are on (((hugs))) Do what you can to cope, art is the best way. Take lots of unique photos of your special boy, his hand in yours, his smile, his feet, etc. You all are in my thoughts n’ prayers~

  4. I can’t believe this is done on an iPad! Isn’t it amazing how far technology has come? This is a beautiful painting and you have a beautiful daughter. I’m so glad Knox is doing well and you get to make his stocking this year. I am looking forward to seeing those adorable pictures of him in his new striped jammies. Those are the best holiday pictures! Take care and I hope this holiday season is a blessed on for you and your family.

I was looking at the Bead Creator software on sale on Flock today. It looks like fun too, but I probably am not going to bead tapestries, so I couldn’t justify buying it. But it would be fun to do family pictures in beads and mosaic. Megan and Julianna just got their ipads and are loving them. Megan calls me on hers. It’s wonderful that the kids grow up knowing this technology and will be able to use it their entire lives. Love you all, Floy

  6. Well, Scarlett, I guess I must learn how to paint with this app. You did an amazing job! You and your precious family are in my prayers always, but especially during this Christmas season. xoxo

  7. I am glad this week feels better than last. I am very excited to try this application. I can’t believe you did that on an Ipad. I just got an Ipad and can’t wait to download this app and play!

  8. Hi Scarlett – gosh I think I’d quietly hide the ipad from your daughter and just use it yourself – those are stunningly good ‘paintings’ .. what do you call them done on an ipad – can you print them out .. ? Absolutely fabulous ..

So pleased you’ve got Knox a little present and Grandma’s pajamas sound quite delightful .. the simpler the better – always so true .. love and kindness with lots of smiles and compassion .. With many thoughts in the days ahead .. hugs across the pond .. Hilary

  9. What a gorgeous painting. I can’t believe this was on an iPad and your first try too! This is so fantastic!!! Glad to hear everything is better with Knox. That’s wonderful! I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year! ~Sophia
